As we approach our 4th outing this summer, I would like to show the leaderboard and give the individual results of all our meetings. It has been a great year so far and special thanks to Finbar and Seamie for all their hard work to date. The society now boasts 40-plus members and growing. There are Porter Belly's Golf Society shirts still for sale and we ask all participants to buy one. From hackers to pros, the Society provides a great social outlet for all of us and while competition is always good, we have a good laugh while experiencing new courses every outing.

To the scoring — some people asked for some clarification, so here we go.

Your assigned handicap is given to you by the Society and is adjusted every month as you score in each competition. So if yours is 18, take your handicap from 36. So you are -18.

To score:

• 1 point for bogey
• 2 point for par
• 4 point for birdie
• 8 point for eagle

Reaching level or plus points is the goal and a very fair way to score, while after a bad hole or two you are still competitive. The Player of the Year is the person with the most points over all our outings including the last weekend.

This year's trip to the Cape is September 24-26th, 2010. If you will be playing, please let us know soon as places are premium. The Captains Prize is between all players at the weekend of the Cape, while each day there will be individual competitions.

To score our fedex-style Captains Cup:

• 500 points for first place
• 400 points for second
• 300 points for third
• 200 points for fourth
• 100 points for fifth

Should multiple players finish in either of the top 5 they too will be awarded the same points.
